Gravitational Wave Astrophysics for Early Career Scientists Coordination Meeting
OVERVIEW & PURPOSE
The meeting will bring together representatives of different Early Career Scientists (ECS) communities active in Gravitational Waves research, in order to discuss the coordination of different activities of common interest.
We are ECS working within the ESA LISA mission, the LIGO-Virgo and PTA collaborations.
Participation is by invitation only. If you wish to participate, please contact the chairs of your corresponding Early Career Organization.
The first day of the meeting will be dedicated to the science overview of each Collaboration. The Early Career groups will report on their activities, and the different routes for possible organization coordination will be discussed.
The second day will be dedicated to investigating the outcome of the recent GWÆCS workshop, as well as organizing common activities for our organizations.
Among the possible coordinated activities there are
- Workshops on career/funding opportunities, professional/soft skill development, mental-health, EDI.
- A common alumni program/database.
- Organization of Seminars.
- Maintenance of a list of external fellowship
- A common survey/census of ECSs
The discussion on the ECSs organization will focus on the
- selection of the coordinators.
- scheduling of our common general meetings/calls
- organization of a bi-annual general workshop
- application for funding for meetings and other activities
